The whole point of this rug is that it goes in a machine, and the review data agrees: washability runs 32 positive and 0 negative, the cleanest split anywhere in this range.
An 8×10 is a lot of textile. A domestic machine under about 8 kg will not turn it, and a rug that does not turn does not get clean, it gets soaked in one place and stays dry in another.
Air-dry flat or over two lines so the weight is shared. A wet low-pile rug is heavy and will stretch if it hangs from one edge. Do not tumble it. Heat is what damages a non-slip backing.

The non-slip layer is the part with a service life. Wash it as rarely as the room allows, dry it flat, and do not put it back on a floor that is still wet from cleaning.
The product page states it is robot-vacuum safe, and low pile is genuinely the right construction for that. It is still worth lifting the corner nearest the dock: that is where a robot pushes a rug into a ridge over time.
