Gsm is grams per square metre: the weight of the cloth, which correlates with how substantial it feels but not with how warm it is. On an electrically heated blanket, warmth comes from the wire. The fabric decides the hand-feel and how long the warmth lingers after it switches off.

Faux fur is the most expensive construction here and the only one where thickness runs negative: 24 positive against 39 negative, with reviewers describing it as pretty thin. Two things are true at once, it is the heaviest fabric in the range on paper, and a long pile can read as thin because the pile compresses and the backing is what you feel.
Treat these as warm rather than thick: at 24 good against 39 bad, thickness is not what buyers praise.
Which to buy
For a bed, flannel: it lies flat, it does not shed and it washes well. For a sofa, flannel over sherpa is the reliable middle. Buy faux fur because you want the look and the pile, not because you expect it to be the warmest.
